For the Love of a Girl by Selena Barton
Wufei ran his fingers over the delicate face. Around slanted eyes, across high cheek bones, over thin cheeks, across soft lips. She had always been attractive, even at 14, but now, with the time that had passed, she was beautiful. Time had changed her temper as well. He could see it in her eyes, dark pools that could now look at him with pride and love. He leaned in slowly, pressed their lips together tenderly, thumb gently caressing her cheek. "Mei..." he started to whisper, but she placed a slender finger to his lips. "Not now," she whispered leaning her face into the hand cupping her cheek. This woman was the reason he survived, the reason he fought with such passion. He never would have left L5 if it hadn't been for her, her ideals, her life. And as much as he knew what their history had held, he couldn't begin to make himself question that moment with her right there before him, aged and matured, warm against his hand. He let go a sigh when her arms wrapped around him. His own arms wrapped around her hugging her close to him. Her touches were light, barely ghosting over his own back, lips pressing lightly, far more gentle than he'd ever thought she'd be. Loving touches and whispered affections murmured, she snuggled in against him, resting her head against his chest. He couldn't remember how that moment truly started or where it truly ended, couldn't say he really cared to do so. He just wanted that moment, that chance to see she hadn't hated him, had truly been proud to have his name, proud of what he'd done in her honor. As he woke, he felt the warmth against his back and chest, slowly blinked open his eyes onto the blond hair in front of him. His lips curled into a sleepy smile as his mind tried to clear itself. A dream. She'd been just a dream. A dream he'd not trade for anything. And reality, he knew, he'd never give up even for that dream. Trowa shifted against his back, turning toward him and draping an arm across him in his sleep. Wufei closed his eyes and breathed in slowly, taking in the scent of his lovers, Quatre's shampoo filling his senses. He opened his eyes to meet ocean blue eyes. "Good morning," Quatre whispered with a bright smile. Wufei smiled warmly and whispered, "Very."
