Relena by Becky Marie
Heero came to her once, all confused emotions and battered spirit and worn down heart, thinking she might be the answer he was looking for. When she was younger, she thought that perhaps maybe she should would have considered herself that answer. Older and wiser than those days, those that were only a few years ago, but like entire lifetimes now, her hand had been gentle on his as she had smiled at him and told him it was all right to be confused. He didn't know everything, he'd been deprived of so many important things in his life she had thought, that no one could blame him for not understanding this. She had felt no sadness in her heart when she had placed a few discreet calls, when Duo came to help pick up the pieces of Heero that she couldn't now that he was finally ready to let himself fall apart. She had felt only happiness that two people, who were so dear to her, could maybe finally understood what they meant to each other, that maybe now they could finally find each other like she hoped they would. Relena had watched them, a soft smile on her lips as Heero reached out for Duo, his hand brushing lightly before Duo caught at it and held it tight, and she knew her own heart was as happy as theirs would be.
